| Stethoscope sound is conducted from the stethoscope head to the stethoscope user's ears through two dependent elastic inner sound tubes made of "superball" urethane which are continuously suspended between two poles in a aggregate of insulation, spacing material, and lubricant contained within a flexible outer tube covering. The stethoscope can also be mechanically energized to increase its output by gently stretching the stethoscope immediately prior to, or during use. The (patents pending) KAM system contains a Kinetic Amplification Mechanism™ that works like an "acoustical trampoline, or slingshot" such that simple manipulation of the flexible outer tube covering (stretching, or milking) causes an elastic deformation of the inner sound conduction tubes, and the kinetic energy input is released into the sound conduction pathway during subsequent relaxation of the stethoscope tubing. The elastic reformation of the dependent inner tubes increases the force of columnar air pressure within the stethoscope to augment the sound volume output to the ears of the stethoscope user. The decay of the kinetic energy released by elastic reformation of the sound conduction tubes is prolonged by the dependent suspension of the inner sound conducting tubes between the two poles. The differential elastic properties of the materials of outer tube covering and the inner sound conduction tubes, and the insulating and spacing materials within the outer tube covering which separate the inner sound conduction tubes produce a clinically useful duration of increased amplification. A patented acoustic conduction system is insulated from external noise by a patent-pending, thermo-acoustic suspension stratification matrix: a very flexible, ultra-lightweight stethoscope insulation that is virtually impervious to extreme operating temperature, remains highly effective in very noisy environments, and eliminates auscultation of acoustic artifacts from the stethoscope mechanism, or body movements. New Metacardia LT.8- 27 inch, or 32 inch long tubing cancels >10dB avg. ambient noise, yet weighs only 0.10lb and is only 0.4in thick (virtually no more than standard cardiology stethoscopes). Metacardia LT.8 outperforms every other brand or model for pulmonology, and cardiology freguency response (sensitivity, and volume), external acoustic noise canceling, and other features (including the strongest warranty in the industry). 2008 Metacardia LT.8 model also includes the patent pending *VSAVR device (voluble stethoscope acoustic vestibule reflector), plus Viton bearings with a functional temperature range: (+)400F degrees to (-)40F degrees. A fine, embossed gold gift box includes a generous accessory kit. Metacardia LT is available in seven colors. Metacardia tubing and binaural headset colors are selected separately to enable your choice of a single-color stethoscope, or a custom stethoscope color combination. A lifetime limited warranty, and peerless customer support ensure that Metacardia LT remains the gold standard by which all other acoustic stethoscopes are measured, for many years. |
